Peer Reviews and Therapy Consultations
Peer Reviews and Therapy Consultations provide access, either through direct consultation or file review, to a licensed therapist with extensive training in workers' compensation, disability management and work-related injuries.
Quality of care and optimal outcomes through work injury management are considered the cornerstone of HTPN's scope of services. Peer review is an added service that can provide a major difference in a company's expenditures for its injured workers. By assisting in determination of the proper course of action for open case files, HTPN can provide significant cost savings, and document the savings. These services are also offered in conjunction with utilization of our work injury management network which includes referral placement and management. Peer Reviews and Therapy Consultation services can be performed on-site at the client's office or off-site, depending on the needs of the client. The methodology of the peer review is tailored to the needs of the client, but results in a formal written audit focused on providing a recommended course of action. During the scheduled consultation visit, the therapist is available for questions and discussions about therapy-related issues. These discussions may include therapy progression or regression, the reasoning behind therapeutic protocols, goals as they relate to the injured worker, the appropriateness or results of a Functional Capacity Evaluation, next steps or other case management options.
The benefits of these services include:
- Reduction in treatment and claim costs
- Direct access to a skilled and licensed therapist with work injury experience
- Increase in case resolution while providing optimal outcomes
- Decrease in lost work time frequency and duration
- Development of ability to manage cases through education
- Development and documentation of a clear and sound course of action
