Title: The Intervention of an Injured Worker with Chronic Neck Pain
Purpose: To familiarize the student with common causes of and solutions for chronic neck pain in the workplace.
Credit: One CE credit
Availability: Course is generally offered on-site and should be scheduled several weeks in advance.
Introduction: Chronic neck pain is a common cause of lost work productivity. Its causes can be identified and traced to several different injuries that occur while at work. However, its identification and course of effective rehabilitation can result in quick resolution and cost savings to the workers' compensation health care system.
Learning Objective: This course is designed to provide the student with the ability to identify causes of chronic neck pain in the workforce. The student will also learn about the various methods of resolution including rehabilitation and workplace modification.

Title: The Functional Capacity Evaluation
Purpose: To introduce the student to the history, uses and value of functional capacity information.
Credit: One CE credit
Availability: Course is generally offered on-site and should be scheduled several weeks in advance
Introduction: Functional Capacity Evaluations have been used since the Industrialization of America as a tool to determine an individual's functional abilities. Today, they are used in several ways including the determination of a worker's ability to safely return to work, symptom magnification identification, and assessment of a worker's current Physical Demand Category. They can also provide additional valuable information that can be used as an effective tool to reduce costs associated with workers' compensation claims.

Title: Ergonomics and The Ergonomic Analysis
Purpose: To introduce the student to the history, uses and value of ergonomic information.
Credit: One CE credit
Availability: Course is generally offered on-site and should be scheduled several weeks in advance.
Introduction: An ergonomic analysis can be an important tool in understanding and identifying risk factors in the workplace as it relates to cumulative trauma disorders. Identification of the risk factors can lead to injury resolution and provide preventative care through reasonable accommodations. This CE course will also discuss the OSHA ergonomic standards and how they relate to the injured worker.
Learning Objective: This course will familiarize the student with a basic understanding of ergonomic analysis including history, OSHA standards and terminology used. This course allows the student the ability to better read, understand and utilize ergonomic information.

Title: Understanding and Managing Lower Extremity Cumulative Trauma Disorders
Purpose: To familiarize the student with common causes and solutions for lower extremity cumulative trauma disorders in the workplace.

Introduction: The modernization of the workplace has led to an increase in the prevalence of lower extremity cumulative trauma disorders. There are many causes including posture, vibration, repetition and poor physical conditioning. However, the identification of the source or cause of injury and the appropriate treatment are the key to returning the worker safely back to work. Additionally, with the increase in the prevalence of this type of injury, appropriate identification and treatment are essential to reducing workers' compensation claims and costs.
Learning Objective: This course is designed to provide the student with the ability to identify causes of lower extremity cumulative trauma disorders in the workforce. The student will also be exposed to the various methods of resolution including rehabilitation and workplace modification.

Purpose: To familiarize the student with common causes and solutions for shoulder injuries in the workplace.

Introduction: The shoulder is one of the body's most complex joints. As a result, there are numerous shoulder injuries that can lead to lost productivity and time off. Proper identification and treatment strategies can improve recovery time and provide for ongoing preventative care. This course will discuss anatomy, biomechanics, work-related injuries, and surgical and rehabilitative intervention.
Learning Objective: This course is designed to provide the student with the ability to identify causes of shoulder disorders in the workforce. The student will also be exposed to the various methods of resolution including rehabilitation and workplace modification.

Title: Work Management From A - Z
Purpose: To familiarize the student with common work-related injuries with a focus on prevention, identification of causes, communication and early interventions.
Credit: One CE credit
Availability: Course is generally offered on-site and should be scheduled several weeks in advance.
Introduction: Effective management of work-related injuries can lead to reduced costs associated with workers' compensation claims. This guideline includes steps to take prior to a work injury including preventive care and the development and implementation of a return to work strategy. Injury management also includes early communication with the worker to define his or her role and responsibilities in treatment, compliance and return to duty. Prevention, implementation, communication and consultation can lead to a reduction in lost productivity and injury time off.
Learning Objective: This course is designed to provide the student with the ability to identify causes of common injuries in the workforce. The student will be exposed to a variety of tools used for prevention, early intervention and accelerated return to work.

Title: Code of Ethics in Rehabilitation
Purpose: This course was developed to promote and facilitate ethical behavior among healthcare professionals in the rehabilitation setting .

Introduction: "Code of Ethics" is a continuing education program for healthcare professionals. The course focuses on defining ethical professional behavior in a rehabilitation setting. Information presented includes sections on the theoretical basis for ethical decision-making, the Code of Ethics and Guide for Professional Conduct, legal standards of behavior, and hypothetical case study scenarios.
Learning Objective: This course is designed to increase understanding of the process required for ethical decision-making. Through course discussions, the student will develop improved problem solving skills relating to ethical dilemmas. Instructor will review and interpret the laws and rules that govern rehabilitation professionals, and explain basic patient rights. Class discussion will include the meaning and implications of conflict of interest, and examine the ethical considerations involved in billing for rehab services. Appropriate relationships in the rehabilitation setting will also be reviewed and examined.
